Weighing 11–14 lb (5.1–6.4 kg) and standing 6–9 in (15.2–22.9 cm) tall, the Pekingese is a small-sized representative of the Toy Group. It currently ranks #87 in AKC registration popularity. The breed traces its roots to China. As with most breeds, males occupy the top of the size range.

How long do Pekingeses live? Based on published breed data, a typical lifespan is 12–14 years.
