PawDataLab

Editorial policy

What we publish and how

PawDataLab pages fall into three types: data pages (breed statistics compiled from AKC breed profiles with a manual correction layer), fact pages (food safety verdicts based on ASPCA, AKC and FDA publications), and calculators (formulas from WSAVA nutritional guidance, the Merck Veterinary Manual and published cost research, implemented in unit-tested code). Every page states or links its source. Data pages carry a "last verified" date and are refreshed when the underlying source changes.

What we do not do

We publish no veterinary diagnosis or treatment guidance, no fabricated expert reviewers, and no ratings we cannot verify. Content on this site has not been reviewed by a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine; where health facts matter, we compile them from cited veterinary authorities instead. Any statement that cannot be tied to a source is deleted or marked as needing one before it ships. Suspected poisoning is always a call-your-vet situation: ASPCA Animal Poison Control answers at (888) 426-4435.

Corrections

Errors are fixed in place with the source re-checked. If a correction changes a number people may have relied on (a threshold, a formula, a cost range), we note the change on the page. Report errors to contact@pawdatalab.com — corrections emails are the fastest way to improve this site.

Commercial relationships

The site is currently funded by nothing; Google Analytics is the only third-party service active. Advertising (Google AdSense) and affiliate relationships are planned, and when they activate, provider links will be disclosed on the pages that carry them and in theprivacy policy. Commercial relationships never alter the data, verdicts or formulas on any page.
